Inspiron Duo

Is it a Laptop or is it a Tablet ?

Actually it’s both.

Using an Intel Atom N550 processor, it comes with 2GB Ram and a choice of 250GB – 320GB hard drive.

It has a 10.1 inch Widescreen HD WLED display providing a resolution of 1366 x 768 and, of course, with Multi-Touch.

pre-installed OS is Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit).

Overall dimensions are: Width 285mm x Height 26.2mm-28.7mm and Depth 194.5mm and an overall weight of 1.54Kg

Dell Streak – Android Device

Dell are now talking in more detail about their 5-inch Android Tablet device.

At 5 inches it’s slightly bigger than an iPhone, but does that make it a tablet?

Features include:

  • 5-inch capacitive multi-touch display
  • Fast 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm
  • 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • A user-removable (and replaceable) battery
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Integrated 3G + Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + Bluetooth 2.1
  • UMTS / GPRS / EDGE class 12 GSM radio with link speeds of HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA
  • User-accessible Micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB

The Streak will launch initially in the UK in early June (at O2 and the Carphone Warehouse stores and the Dell Uk Website) followed later in the summer in the US at prices yet to be announced.

Dell S300wi Interactive Projector

The Dell S300wi is a short throw projector that will provide an image at a size of 24.5 ft from a distance of 10.8 ft  (or a size of 5 ft from a distance of 2.2ft away) at a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

The projector provides wifi (b/g/n) in addition to the normal wired connections for VGA, HDMI , S-Video and composite inputs.

It also comes with a wireless pen that can work as a pen, mouse or pointing device. The pen has 3 buttons equivalent to a Left Mouse button, Right Mouse button and a 3rd button to switch between different interactive modes and a retractable nib that allows a user to “draw” on the projected image surface. It is powered by 2 AA batteries that provide up to 50 hours of usage time.

and if that’s not enough …

… the S300wi is 3D ready, which actually means that it is 3D DLP-Link compatible, and with a pair of suitable active shutter glasses you can view the projected image in glorious 3D.
